The eye network fills out its fall schedule with five new shows.

CBS is adding two new comedies and three new dramas to its already successful schedule for Fall 2008, returning 18 series to its lineup. Canceled shows include "Cane," "Shark" and "Moonlight."

In the comedy category, one new series is "Worst Week," a half-hour show about Sam Briggs (KYLE BORNHEIMER, "Jericho"), an entertainment magazine editor who will do anything to please his girlfriend's parents, but instead becomes a one-man wrecking crew whenever he's around.. And "Project Gary," starring JAY MOHR ("Ghost Whisperer") and PAULA MARSHALL ("Nip/Tuck"), in a comedy about Gary Barnes, a recently single painting contractor, and his controlling ex-wife, Allison.  The couple faces post-divorce mayhem after 15 years of marriage as they each embark on new relationships.

"We've been looking to expand our comedy lineup, and we now have the depth and development to make the move," said NINA TASSLER, president, CBS Entertainment. "Monday is already television's signature night for comedy and we think we can make the case that CBS is the signature network for comedy overall."

In the drama category are "Eleventh Hour," from producer JERRY BRUCKHEIMER, a thriller about a special advisor (RUFUS SEWELL, 'The Illusionist') to the government who investigates scientific crises; "The Mentalist," starring SIMON BAKER ("The Guardian") as a former celebrity psychic-turned-detective who uses his gifted skills of observation and expertise at "reading" people to solve crimes; and "The Ex List," a sexy dramedy about a 30-something woman who searches her past relationships to find her future husband.

Adds Tassler, "Our new dramas put a character twist on the highly successful procedural form with two exciting new leads in Simon Baker and Rufus Sewell. And, rounding out the new slate is a very unique series with a dynamic young actress (ELIZABETH REASER, "Grey's Anatomy") that blends comedy, drama and romance in a concept that will have everybody thinking about their personal 'ex list.' • Moonlight was my favorite show on TV. I even got my daughter hooked on watching it on Friday night. You should at least consider bringing it back. I think all the fans of the Buffy and
Angel Series were watching Moonlight. There isn't a good show...

  • Moonlight is too great a show not to return this season. What are you thinking CBS??? Alex was THE most impressive vampire in ages. Do you just not care what the people want to watch anymore?

  • We want Moonlight! We need our Mick fix! All of my friends started watching it because I told them what a great show it was!

  • I think it is ridiculous that CBS did not bring back Moonlight. This is a People's Choice award winner. What kind of logic is that? The People have spoken! At that, they left it as a cliff hanger! This is as big of a mistake as Jericho was and that...
