MARISSA JARET WINOKUR ended her plucky run on ABC's hit dancing competition, "Dancing with the Stars" on Tuesday night.
The Broadway star was often ranked toward the bottom of the leaderboard by the judges, but never gave up, making it into the final four.
Upon hearing the news, she cried wistfully, "So close, so close," but said goodbye to the show fondly: "It's been incredible -- no one expected us to get this far."
The curvy Tony winner said in a farewell video, "You don't have to be a size 0 to dance," going on to say, "I've never ever felt sexier in my life. … I feel like I can pretty much do anything."
Her partner, TONY DOVOLANI, lavished praise upon her, saying, "I could not be more proud of this woman. She has given me everything… she never ever gave up." He then turned to her and said, "Obviously, you have become a dancer."
In a final goodbye, the effervescent actress told the audience, "I want everyone to just go out and do something fun and do something that makes you feel sexy -- and shake what your mama gave you!"
The results show also included three dances by finalists in the "Junior Champions" kiddie dancing competition, and a performance by R&B artist OMARION of MICHAEL JACKSON's "Thriller" to mark the song's 25th anniversary.
