"The Insider" has the latest...

For the first time on live TV, Billy Ray Cyrus spoke out about daughter Miley's controversial Vanity Fair photos where she appeared seemingly topless.

"I didn't know they were going to strip her down and wrap her in a blanket," Cyrus said on Tuesday's edition of the "Today" show. "I was surprised when I saw it ... but, hey, that's life. Stuff happens."

He says that when the pictures came out, he decided to play it cool and not have harsh words with the mag, saying he thought to himself, "'Okay, this happened. We gotta deal with it.'"

  • Oh come on! Billy Ray must have had to proof those pictures before they were published. He could have put a stop to it all before the issue even hit the newstands.
