The 42-year-old mommy and her daughter had lunch Friday over at the popular L.A. eatery Joan's, on Third, as first reported by People magazine, and then went shopping on Saturday at several stores in Melrose Avenue.

Valentina Paloma, Hayek's first baby, was born September 21st. She's engaged to Francois-Henri Pinault, 44, French billionaire who runs a multinational company specializing in luxury brands such as Gucci and Puma. Rumor has it they are planning a wedding by the end of August.

Just last week, Hayek and Penélope Cruz, her good friend and co-star of the 2006 film 'Bandidas', were involved in a scandal surrounding a drug dealer.

According to several gossip sites, including celebrity-gossip.net, during the filming of the movie, the stars stayed over at a ranch owned by Sergio Villarreal Barragán, a drug lord with mafia ties.

But in a joint statement, the actresses replied: "The production of 'Bandidas' arranged accommodation for all the actors, which is common practice in the film industry. Penelope Cruz decided to stay in a hotel, while Salma Hayek preferred to stay in a house."

It then added: "Salma Hayek never knew who owned the house or had any contact with its owners or with anything associated with the rented place, which was paid for by the production company. Neither the actresses nor their respective film companies were involved in the film's production".
