Queen Latifah hits weight loss goal on Jenny Craig

Queen Latifah has become US diet firm Jenny Craig’s latest success story - after reaching her weight loss goal.

The rapper and Chicago star signed up as a celebrity spokesperson for Jenny Craig in January, aiming to shed 10 per cent of her body weight.

Latifah, 38, reveals she ha that target, stating, “My intention was to lose five to 10 per cent of my bodyweight because it makes a difference with health related issues, and I achieved that goal in a couple of months.”

“I’m excited about this weightloss. My jeans are looser, I feel more energetic (and) people dig it.

“They come up to me and say, `I’m glad you’re talking about the health side of it.’ People get that message, which is important too.” (WENN)

Today Show Investigates The Jenny Craig Diet

Investigating Jenny Craig

I’m watching the Today Show right now. Matt Lauer is interviewing a woman who successfully lost weight on the 1200 calories prepackaged meal diet.  After 3 months, she was 18 pounds lighter, 163 lbs and 2 lbs from her goal. Here’s what they had to say. Matt: What has the hardest part been? Lisa: The hardest part has been the portions. They’re very very small. Matt: How did you get through that period where it looked like you just couldn’t survive on that amount of food? Lisa: I got through it with talking with my friends. I have a very good friend who has struggled with her weight, the whole time she’s been born. And she has talked me through it. She’s lost her weight and kept it off for years. So I called her every single time I had a problem. Matt: How do those meals taste Lisa: They were actually very very good Matt: So it wasn’t like a chore to have to eat them Lisa: No, they were very tasty Matt: You’ve been trying to lose weight for more than a decade now. So why did it work this time? Did the television show motivation help you? Lisa: That was a lot of motivation, to come on tv and say I was on this diet….I wanted to lose the weight. It’s hard to do it on your own.
