The album was reportedly turned into the band's label, Geffen, two months ago. The production itself was a whopping $13 million dollars. Dr. Pepper was so hard-up for its release that it promised to send a free can of its product to every person in America if "Chinese Democracy" was released before the end of 2008. Technically, this consists as a "release," so pony up, Dr. Pepper!

Regardless, it's still not the same GnR. Axl Rose and co. sought new management and he's the only original member of the band left. The rest of the boys jumped ship when Rose's vocal tonality took on the eerie pitch of one of those zombie things from "I Am Legend."
