New Video: David Cook Rocks 'Idol' Tour

"American Idol"'s Top 10 are getting ready to head out on the "Pop-Tarts Presents American Idol Live! Tour 2008," but first, "The Insider" chatted with this year's winner, David Cook, for all the latest on his doings since the show wrapped for its seventh season.

David says he hasn't had time to breathe since winning the title, so he is happy to get out on the road, which will give him a chance to see friends and family when the tour takes him to Kansas City and Tulsa.

"For me, it is one big glad-fest," the hunky 25-year-old says of the summer concert series.

David tells "The Insider" that he will also use the traveling time on board the bus to write some songs for his upcoming LP, which will be a rock record with "some twists and turns. I am going to try some new things -- stretch the boundaries," he says.

  • Umm, David Cook didn't win 'the tie' on AI. He and David Archuleta were the final two top vote getters when the competition was down to 3, including Syesha Mercado. David Cook won over David A. by an unprecedented 12 million votes.
