Miley Cyrus: The End of 'Hannah Montana'?

Following published reports that Miley Cyrus might hang up her famous blonde wig and leave the role of "Hannah Montana" after the show's third season, "The Insider" gets a reaction straight from the Disney channel - which says there's an option for season four:

"Miley said it best when she said she's delighted to be part of the Disney family; we start production on the third season of 'Hannah Montana' on August 4 and have an option for a fourth season beyond that," a Disney rep says. "We look forward to the 'Hannah Montana' feature film coming to a theatre near you in Spring 2009."

Meanwhile, the teen sensation is gearing up for the Teen Choice Awards. Watch her talk about her first solo hosting gig in this new video!

  • I don't hate Miley, but she should remember, that Disney kind of owns her. Like the Jonas Brothers (nothing personal against them), Disney makes them star in roles in there "Movies".     secondly: personally i don't like Miley Cyrus. not because she "sux" but because she works for "Disney" i use quites there because Disney is not what it used to be. their once quality entertainment is now replaced with the same mindless crap and is labeled as being "life". most of their shows and "made for TV movies" are boring and stupid and are usually about some random teenager living the life of luxury because of highly unrealistic circumstances. take High school musical for example: they say that the two main characters are "from two different worlds" meaning that he is popular and she is not. now i could understand that if she was maybe, a little overweight or perhaps a little less attractive than the other girls (AKA normal looking, and not some super hot OMG actress) . but no. she's just as fake looking as the rest of them. not to say she isn't pretty, i don't hate Disney for that, just saying that "real" high school student's DON'T look like that.

    unfortunately for Miley she either chose (or was pressured by her psudo-famous father) into the life of a child star. and will replay the same series of events that befell Shirley Temple, Brittany Spears, and the Olsen twins. she will be famous for a while, but as soon as the network deems her "too old" they'll drop her for the next wannabe teen with a pretty smile who thinks she can sing. she may do some work after that maybe be in a movie or two before her stardom begins to fade, but other than that she'll disappear.

    i may be wrong however and her adult career may be supremely successful. if that is the case i would like to see what she does once out of Disney's cliché grasp. however if she peruses music as her career, i hope she gets some meaning into her songs. working for Disney her music has no meaning. it's just some sugar coated garbage about being a friend or staying in school. there is no heart in it. i can't stand Hanna Montana, the story is stupid and the music is horrible.

    for those of you who wish to have me smote by the wrath of Zeus or some crap like that, remember: i don't like Miley Cyrus. however i still wish her the best of luck in her career. i ask her to be carefull and not fall into a downward spiral like brittney spears. go ahead and live the life, but remember, being a star is your JOB and just like any job you have to WORK inorder to get anything back. don't just sit back and hope that because your dad is famous for some really (reeeeealy) annoying song, that he'll give you a free ride till your 45 and already cracked out.

  • As a christen it's too bad we shoot our own. I think Miley was pressured into that shot. She probably gets strength from hiding behind the costume part--I thinks it good we see the other side of her..she should listen to her dad--I think he's had more experience then she does. Madonna can't sing and look where it's gotten her--alright she's not in a great place either--she needs to get back to her country roots and become a wholesome gal again I agree with taking a break for a while--hollywood is very forving--with time..but not too long or people will lose interest you gotta ride the wave.
