J-Lo Throws Tantrum Over Swimmer Phelps’ Popularity

The Queen of all Divas, Jennifer “Jenny from the Block” Lopez is at it again, throwing another of her trademark tantrums, this time over gold medal-winning Olympic champion, Michael Phelps.

Apparently, Ms. J-Lo is far from tickled pink at all the attention U.S. swimmer Phelps has been receiving since his record-breaking 8-medal haul at this year’s games. The singer doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about, and believes that she should be getting all the glory because she’s “the one training for a triathlon just six months after giving birth.”

A source explained that following a TV interview [presumably about her triathlon training], J-Lo said that she couldn’t understand “why everyone [was] talking about that swimmer.”

“She couldn’t come up with [Michael] Phelps’ name,” the source added, “and then she yammered on about how she was the one training for a triathlon just six months after giving birth, and how that was the big story right now, not ‘the swimmer.’”

Riiight… Someone give this woman a pin, she’s got a fat head in desperate need of deflation…

To see shots of Ms. Lopez “training” - who seriously trains wearing big, expensive gold hoops, anyway? - follow the jump.

  • of course she could not come up with Phelps' name...she's so freaking self centered. Hate to tell her but the world cares more about what Phelps has done then what she has or hasn't done. So she lost weight after having twins, big deal women have been doing that for years with out the help of personal trainers, chefs etc.....get over your self Jennifer, no one cares what you are doing!

  • They didn't call this bitch J-HO for nothing. Ever since she emasculated Ben Affleck (Remember "Bennifer"?) I've thought she was a worthless piece of trash. And now she's mad because the media rightfully (for once) is paying more attention to Michael Phelps than to her. What has this Jenny from the Block done? She's made money but that's not exactly an accomplishment. She's shaken her behind so much she's probably been around the world with it and on it. She's like Madonna in that she's slept with every man on the planet. She STOLE another woman's husband and she has NEVER made a good movie. People like her because she's Hispanic. That is the worst form of discrimination. YOu like a person because of their talent or even their looks but not because they're an ethnic grou pthat happens to be politcally correct. This is another bitch that if I never hear about her again, it'll be too soon. She's got 2 babies at home but she's already out at work (no doubt, she has nannies taking care of Max and Emmie). This woman is a disgrace.

  • What was the exact comment from Jennifer Lopez? I also agree that too much ado is made about Phelps--but for a different reason. The Olympics are really a joke and this odd, craze and mania about what one person or a team did and how an entire country tries to make them a star for doing it is kind of bizarre. We have people developing cures for drugs or inventing things that make our lives better and easier. We have people fighting for us in other countries and ordinary people who are heros risking their lives everyday. We have others struggling to live or inspiring us with their courage against huge odds to beat cancer. Yet somehow for a lot of people, their admiration, raves and attention is distilled down to what one person did or did not do to their bodies and later, there are the rumors or stories of how we take their gold away due to drugs or sport doping. All the while we try to tell our kids that character is important, brains are important, morals are important--but are actions and reactions say that looks are important, physical performance is important, talent is important--then we wonder why they don't do well in school, can't speak English correctly and suck at math. Mark Phelps is a young man who is swimming and is winning gold medals these days--prior to that, there were people who won the tour de France or who ran races--all gold winners---people hooted then too. Now we strip them of titles later, proclaim them a fraud and spend months decrying doping or cheating. This country really should, at some point GROW UP. There is a lot more to life than a gold medallion in contrived games.

  • At least her proceeds are going for a good cause. Which one of his gold medals is Phelps donating to charity? I'm no fan of J-Lo's but I agree that this attention paid to a guy for running, swimming, jumping, batting or some other physical feat is bizarre and kind of pathetic. Just more grist from the "distract people from real life crowd" I'll be right up there cheering, if Phelps goes on to get an education, then invents something or discovers something that saves lives--or better yet, does anything more meaningful than what the usual acting/sports/singing "pimp your body parts" mentality dictates.

Here's to teachers, scientists, engineers, doctors, nurses, policemen, construction workers, soldiers, etc--the REAL heroes in this country that keep it together and make it work. singers, actors, sport players or sport entertainers are just fluff to keep our attention away from actually achieving. I'm with J-Lo on this--to a point--but when it comes to her triathalon, still not relevant--what IS relevant--is that when she runs and money is made--she uses it to help others--for that, she's right--her story SHOULD be bigger.

It's all about prioritizing. People matter more than feats.

  • Ok anonymous, you've made your point. We know. There are bigger fish to fry and you obviously don't care for the Olympics or for sports in general, and thats fine, to each their own. The whole point of commenting on this is that self-absorbed, irrelevant Jennefer Lopez should be knocked off her high horse a bit. I'm embarresed for her. She obviously needs to remember where she came from. I'm glad i'm not famous. It'd be great to have the money, sure, but at least I don't suck!
