Mackenzie Phillips Arrested

"The Insider" confirms that actress Mackenzie Phillips has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after being stopped at Los Angeles International Airport.  

Airport police confirmed that Phillips, 48, was held in custody at LAX after security screeners allegedly discovered "what appeared to be heroin and cocaine" in her possession. 

She was booked into jail in Van Nuys on a felony drug possession charge, with bail set at $10,000, according to an airport police spokesman. Phillips' agent had no comment on the incident. 

Phillips, who gained fame on the 1970s sitcom "One Day at a Time," was reportedly later fired from the show for drug abuse. She has publicly spoken about her battle with drugs and her sobriety.

  • I'm really sorry about McKenzie as she's been sober for yrs. I know what it's like as I've had problems in my own family for yrs.

  • I've been following Mackenzie Phillips for nearly 30 years. When i heard that she was arrested again on drug charges, I was just as shock.
