Although a recent cleaning
has restored the building to its original
pinkish color, many people know Trinity
as the sooty black church at the end of
Wall Street. The Church's guided tours
describe the parish's history (dating
from 1697), including the fact that
Alexander Hamilton is buried here and
that this was once the location of King's
College -- now called Columbia
University. The church also gives
concerts every Thursday at 1 pm. For
concert details, the schedule of worship
services, and other information, visit
the church's web
site.
Trinity is also the parish
that owns St.
Paul's Chapel,
the "little chapel that stood"
after September 11, which now hosts the
"Unwavering Spirit" exhibit.
