The best voice is Kelly Clarkson. Not only can she sing everything fantastic, but her "voice" includes being able to write the most amazing lyrics and melodies.
For proof just listen to "Irvine" or "Because of You"

Call me wierd, but I like the 'Bama boys...Ruben and Taylor... Ruben has an amazingly smooth voice...Taylor's....amazingly gravely and interesting....not like the average pop star voice.

She has amazing range and she's SOOOOOO versatile. She can sing pop, country, soul, rock, even big band!!!!!!!!!
Versatility is one major aspect of "best voice" because most of these people sing different genres, but Kelly can sing every one of the genres that the others sing. -
Carrie Underwood is a great singer, and really cool. She has A LOT of fans, so i can see why shes winning. But honestly in terms of vocal range, flexibility and talent you have to give it to Kelly Clarkson. Carrie's vocal cords would rupture if she tired singing some of Kelly's songs the way Kelly does. Don't confuse talent with popularity.

However, her vocals don't even come close to comparing with those of Kelly Clarkson. She is hands down the best vocalist to come out of the franchise. Taylor is a joke of American idol. he would be just ok if he was like a 50-60 yr old man ,but he is not. Tayl;or cannot carry a tune and you notice he was a loud to ear plugs because he needed all the help he could get. Carrie Underwood is fantastic. I think that Taylor H. is worst singer. . With so many known singers in the pop world...I think it was harder for Kelly to made her mark. Country singers are less known...therefore it was easier for Carrie to become quickly known. Kelly's the best!!!!

Taylor and Ruben won for popularity reasons. Clay should have beat Ruben hands down!!!!! I don't care for Taylor at all. Jordan is ok as well as the rest. But Kelly will always be the original AI. I think and know that Carrie Underwood has the best overall voice and talent. has any of the other idols have 10 #1 straight every song that she released has go0ne #1 either mediabase or mostly billboard. She it so down to earth she is my pick and I am not the only saying that, which other idol has accomplished what Carrie has. Carie is country's entertainer of the year she has won more than 65 awards some of those awards are 4 grammy's and album of the year, female vocalist 3 times each at the cma and the acm's. she is also a triple crown . that is just to name very few awards.

Give me Taylor's voice any day. All you have to do is listen to him sing "Maybe You Should" from his latest CD "The Distance" and you'll know what I mean. It is so beautiful and deserves more notice. Plus he's great in person, too. He's the whole package! The voice, charisma, and personality! IMHO he's the best ever. The others are just "same old, same old, we've heard it before" Taylor has a uniqueness that's worth listening to.

Nobody cares about ruben or fantasia the only great singer is carrie. I never did like fantasia her screaming gives me a headache and ruben he is to lazy to have a career.

Taylor Hicks is the only Idol to facinate me, and I love his voice, his heart and soul, and his amazing LIVE Performances. He won because he is talented and a truly unique Entertainer, and America loved him. But there were some AI Producers that did not want him to be the winner, so they did not promote him the way they usually do the winner. What a shame! He is still a STAR cause everybody is still talking aobut it, and he is creating his own company to release great music and Entertaining Broadway Crowds, and is on National Tour since his win.
Carrie however is cute, and she has a great voice, and country radio really wanted their share of the America Idol Pie - so Carrie got the Idol Machine promotion, and it really worked. Now she has lots of awards, and Idol got their superstar to brag about - but it should have been Taylor Hicks - and I predict it still will be...stay tuned!!! -
