  • I have been an Obama supporter since the primaries. My daughter and husband are McCain supporters. My son voted this year for the first time and voted for Obama. My five year old grandson voted in a "mock" election in his kindergarten class and voted for the "brown guy". I am very proud of America that we finally were able to put the issue of race aside and vote for the most qualified person for this job.

  • There was no one else better for the job! We in Saint Lucia followed this election very closely and in the end we were quite satisfied with the results, alot of us wished that we could have voted too, can you just imagine that? I know that the neighbouring caribbean countries felt the same way too.

  • The bible says When the righteous is in Authority the people rejioce.God has spoken.I knew Barack would win.I waited patiently and the Lord and he heard my cry.I voted Oct.16 2008.This world has to change. You brought nothing in this world and surely you will take nothing out.Only what you do for Christ will last.So nothing from the time you are born to the time you die even matters.God can and will do what he wants.

  • I am glad the election is over and picking the "right" candidate is a hard choice. who knows if picking Obama was the "right choice, but when i see ignorant comments where people are still using "African Americans" as a term when not all blacks are from Africa it kind of makes me die a little inside. The fact that Obama is black really shouldn't be an issue. I voted for McCain because i believed in what he was supporting, I didn't vote for him because he is white. one of the comments below say "yes we can" meaning just black people...well we are one country that should not be separated by race and religion and if people keep talking about the differences in color it is never going to change. I think black people are feeding into that more than white people and you as black people are oppressing your own race when I look around the majority of people alive today didn't have slaves, get over it.

WE all realize that the slave owners are now dead, however the mentality of some of those individuals has not changed. It is unfortunate some races don't truly understand the reason that Black America fees the way that they do. For the first time, we felt like we are apart of this country, that we can and wikl succeed.

  • Finnally after 8 years, we have Obama. His voice is mesmerizing to hear, with all his nuances of feeling, and strength....He's a leo, and he will be a leader in his heart and this will draw us to him even more as we feel the warmth and strength. I like how he is not afraid to say what he means, and above all, he's been a gentleman....he's great! I think he is super intelligent and that is something that comes out too. He talked at the convention and said what we were all thinking, but no other politicians came right out and stated....such as we need to be responsible ourselves in our daily lives. He has common sense, unlike the buffoons who have been getting over on us these 8 years.

  • For the record I'm black. The presidential choice you made should have been made solely on each candidates policies. For those of you who made the choice solely on race, I can't believe you still exist. Black people need to stop making such a big deal over being black. I know it was a biggy back in the day when we were slaves, but that day has passed. Whatever happened to good old "forgive and forget". MOVE ON PEOPLE. Now about the president elect. I wanted Obama to win. I honestly didn't like any of my choices for president. Mccain is an idiotic nutcase, so was his vp. Obama is too peaceful and we need someone who is going to take this thing by the horns. Essentially I would have voted for a McBama. Obama should have run after we had a McBama. I like his energy plan and pro environment style.

  • Not that I was a fan of McCain's at any rate - but his selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate was the final nail in the coffin. He had completely sold out his soul to appease the far, far, far religious right running the Republican party and the gov't for the last 8 years. Barack was the only sensible choice. Well, Hillary would've been better but at least she's now Secretary of State.

Mc Cain would have still been help the same individuals and Wall Street who cause this mess. Mc Cain wanted to continue to give tax cut to the richest people and continued a war that should have never stated. Not to mention he would have still been telling the American public that the economy was strong. Just more lies, stealing, less regulations, from Wall Street and Big Business who do not have a problem paying minimal salaries the people at the bottom but can pay the CEO and his buddies $55 millions + benefits and health insurance, after running the company into the ground. I do not believe that President Obama will do what these lier, cheats, and nuts have done to running the United States into a financial melt down.

GREED AND MORE GREED + LIES, STEALING FROM THE TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN HAS RESULTED IN THIS FINANICAL MELT DOWN. Time will tell, but be careful what you "hoped" for...the "change" could be costly (even a larger government for us to pay for, more government control of the people/businesses, no energy independence, more illegal aliens, nationalized healthcare, bigger welfare programs, get ready for taxes on everything, get ready for inflation.)
