Black photographers' work featured at Smithsonian
The exhibit, "The Scurlock Studio and Black Washington: Picturing the Promise," is seen at the National Museum of American History in Washington, on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009. Addison Scurlock and then two of his sons ran a successful studio from 1911 to 1994. During that time, they captured the growth of a vibrant black middle class that thrived culturally and economically despite segregation. (AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin)AP Other Entertainment News
