  • I think it's good due to the fact that people look up to them, so to be on the front line and showing people that you care about what happens to the world is a good thing. You may not follow their lead but it's millions of people out there that will.

  • I don't think they should use their star power to influence others. They are experts in the acting/singing field and may not know anything about politics. They have more money than they can ever spend so they are not in touch with the middle class/ real world. It's easy to say to give the money away when they don' t have to worry about paying bills or holding a job.

  • oprah should stay out of it...how about wishing for a good leader instead of wishing for a black man to win...so many people that cry white people are racist when all they thing of is the black man winning...then again, shows their immaturity/intelligence level...and they will never look at themselves
    anonymous anonymous 8/22/08 Reply

    • Are you that immature/unintelligent that you really think the fact that Obama is black is why Oprah is supporting him? I am white and feel as she does that this MAN (black, white or green)of integrity would be a wonderful leader for this country. Or is it just that you are that prejudice??
      anonymous anonymous 9/6/08

    • Oprah is the biggest racist of them all!!! Only the blind can't see it. When has she ever endorsed a president before?? That's funny this is the first black one to run. Huh..... Oh and did you miss the church she and Obama faithfully attended?? You think your educated but you probly only watch your news on CNN. They don't offer education, they just slam Republicans and candy coat Democrats. Want education? Watch FOX news.

  • I think they should remember they are for entertainment only and to stop trying to sway people that are not smart enough to think for themselves!! Also do they really think Obama is going to do what they thnk he will? He's a politician and he anybody who pulls their head out of their @%* can see he is only out to for himself and his race!
    anonymous anonymous 8/25/08 Reply

    • Obviously you are a bigot to make such a comment. I am white and well-informed on the issues and know that this man (Obama) is the only candidate who can help this country get out of all the @#%* it's in because of your boys.
      anonymous anonymous 9/6/08

  • I don't care what celebrities have to say about politics, most celebrities can not run there own life's the way they should and there not any smarter then the rest of us, and with the money they all waste it just shows you that they are so out of touch with the average American and what it takes to get by each day .
    anonymous anonymous 8/25/08 Reply

    • You have just described the Bush Administration. They are clueless when it comes to the average American, have wasted billions of our tax dollars to fill their own pockets and are responsible for tens of thousands of lives in the process.
      anonymous anonymous 9/6/08

  • These people have such screwed up lives who needs them to tell us who to vote for!
    anonymous anonymous 9/2/08 Reply

  • stars seem completely clueless leftist liberals anyways... they use their star power to engage those minds that are less informed. ppl listen to what these dimwits have to say and then they vote democratic. easy for stars to do when they some how avoid their tax dollars going to support the laziness that is the american public on welfare.

    • If you want to talk about people who pollute the minds of the uninformed, you're talking about Limbaugh,Hannity... And the tax dollars the rich don't pay is the outcome of the extreme right, your boys are the one who set that system up. You're angry with the wrong people.

  • using Hollywood to promote you is just another reason why I would not vote for that candidate. star power is just another demonstation of extreme liberism.
    anonymous anonymous 9/5/08 Reply

    • What in the world are you talking about? The candidate (Obama) is not using celebrity, Oprah chose to support him. What do star power and extreme liberalism have in common? You may not like celebrities becoming involved in the process but your comments make no sense. And to make a decision on who will be our next president on Hollywood is just plain stupid.

  • I don't think all celebrities should use their star power for political purposes, but in Oprah's case I'm all for it. She is a very intelligent woman who would not make her personal preferences public if she didn't think it was very important. She knows how much this country needs a man of integrity like Barack Obama. I think it's wonderful that she is making her opinion known.

    • Are you saying the blacks have never voted for the past presidents, Bush is not a black man..
      anonymous anonymous 9/10/08

  • I think they should stay out of it, but at the same time... since they are all idiots who can't run their own lives much less choose someone to run the country, maybe it's good if they support Obama. The only problem is that the average person is stupid enough to not look at the issues and may swing their vote based on what their favorite celebrity is doing.

  • What arrogance! Why do they think they have political sway? Most of them have no more than a high school diploma. They live in a totally false world of materialism and image. They celebrate having children out of wedlock, and condem Sara Palins daughter for doing the same. They also talk about Obama being raised by a single mother (as if it's a virtue) but Palins daughter is a slut? I don't get it. Celebrities should learn their lines and deliver them. That's what they are disgustingly overpayed for. They are too busy worrying about their hair and makeup to realize Obama is the one that has NO experience, and he's in charge before anybody dies!!! Smooth talk wont keep a nuclear bomb from hitting us or the economy from crashing. If you think that's just extreme talk, your naive.

  • Most celebrities are disconnected from the majority of Americans and many believe we actually care what they have to say politically or whatever. We Dont. I would say, I pay you to entertain me, so here's a quarter monkey, Dance!! Please keep your political opinions to yourselves.
    anonymous anonymous 9/19/08 Reply

  • The public has bestowed celebrity on them because of their so
called talent, whatever it may be. They certainly have a right to their political opinion but not in a public forum that,s been granted to them because of their celebrity or Talent. I am an undying Sinatra fan but when he used the stage for his personal
politics, he was off base and so is any one elese who uses the stage to expound their political beliefs. When I pay to see an artist I pay for the talent not the political belief.

  • I don't think celebrities should get involved in politics like this. I think they abuse their status with the public when they do that. I really don't care who they like or don't like.

  • Celebrities are merely public entertainment. I have no doubt that most are totally out of touch with any sort of reality that the vast majority of Americans know. We truly need to end our country's addiction to the modern day version of circus freaks with clout.

  • I think it is very sad that people listen to celebrities, handing on their every word. What the hell do they know. They are school drop outs that get paid to say ANYTHING! I'm glad Hayden Panetierre is taking her role seriously and trying to be a hero but this is real life. They need to realize that just because people have the capability to say anything in this country doesn't mean they should, Especially if they don't know anything about it.

  • I think it's pointless for a celebrity to tell me who to vote for. For one thing, we live totally different lives ,no matter what they may say, and our issues are not the same. Also, many of them act like they know everything about politics, but in reality they don't know a thing. I'd rather someone more informed tell be about the issues, (or better yet, to find them out on my own!) than listen to some spoiled clueless egotistical Hollywood celeb.
