One of the greatest freedoms of being an American is being able to vote. In other countries, you are told for whom to vote or it's illegal not to vote.Here, you may vote -- or not --- as you choose and for whomever you choose.
In last year's presidential election, I voted for the Republican candidate. The majority voted for the Democrat candidate. I may not like it but the matter is settled and it's a beautiful thing because the procedure worked..
If you are one of those who thinks your vote - or lack of it - won't make a difference, I beg you, think again. Thousands and thousands of soldiers gave their lives for the freedoms you enjoy and one of those freedoms is voting. If you aren't registered, again, I beg you, please go register. Read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution; they're not just dried-up old documents but living entities that tell you why America is what it is and I hope it never changes. So whenever there is an election, please...VOTE.-
It is true that millions have died in order to protect the Constitution which preserves our rights as American Citizens. However, I believe that since voting can have such dire consequences, (Just look at the way our system of Government has deteriorated steadily over the past 12 or so administrations, and how fast this current one is taking us down.) I believe that the time has come to place some restriction on that right.
I would require that one read the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of The United States, and take a test to prove that they understood what they read, as well as passing a test of their common sense, and their knowledge of current events, before issuing a voter ID.
I would argue that a good portion, if not a majority, of voters are ignorant of the details when they cast their vote. If this were not true, we would not constantly have to vote based upon which candidate is likely to screw us the least.

I think Jon has got to get it. He said before that he can't wrap his head around the fame from having eight well known children. He could not go anywhere with out having pictures taken. I don't like the ad but I've voted since 1972, when I was 19. It's an honor and a privilege to be able to vote - it's even a gift that voting is an option rather than a mandate. In some countries, you MUST vote and if you can't get to the polls, someone will come to pick you up and take you. I'd prefer to decide for myself whether I'm going to vote and for whom.

have all of you on the show seen all od the Jon and Kate shows..I have seen all of them. I am a 78 year old mother of 5 children[had 5 in 6 years] I wrote to Kate 3 years ago and told her she cannot treat a man like that or he will soon leave.She treated him awful and he never did anything wright in her eyes. It's all about her. Jon was the perfect father who did some wrong things after the breakup.. I will never watch the show with only Kate even tho I love those kids. Please watch all the shows before you judge him I'ts all about Kate with her.. I have been married 52 yrs and it's because we respect each other ..Kate did not treat Jon with any respect.. Thank you

Voting is a right that all who qualify should take advantage of. With that right also comes an awesome responsibility. Whether you are voting for an individual or a possible new law, you need to know who and/or what you are voting for or against. Demand that the candidates clarify what they stand for and what they plan to do if they are elected. hold them to this and if they do not follow through or do the opposite, vote them out. Remember, these elected officials work for us, the taxpayers, not the other way around. No matter your political philosophy, you owe it to yourself, your generation, and future generations to vote, and to vote with knowledge, not emotion.

This ad is confusing, and when I look at it- I do not think about voting. It looks like a movie ad. Improvement is greatly needed. How about putting a voting booth up and it is blocked with people trying to get in. And, then asks how would feel it you can not vote?
