Of course she's a victim! She is scared of her husband, called 911 a couple of times and hung up. Police came to the house only to find her with bumps and bruises caused by "contact lenses."
You can tell she is submissive, she barely speaks English, whereas he threw milk on his wife-swap wife after knowing her a handful of days. Wonder what he does to women he knows for a month? Hmm?

Why is it all of a sudden that people are up in arms with this family? His business partners are saying the reason they distanced themselves is partly because the children came with them on storm chasing, now all of a sudden they are speaking out. The family must have been ok or they would not have allowed them on ABC's "Wife Swap", right? It's kinda "funny" that the people closest to someone questionable dosen't say anything until something breaks on the news, the they say I knew something like this would happen. She may be a victim, but as a human being she should have put the safety of the kids first before the fame. She failed to be a good mom, maybe she qualified for a good wife, for an abusive husband. The kids dont deserve such parents, these parents ruin the kids future.

From everything I've seen the husband is abusive. I think she goes along with every idea he has and but also to blame, I think mastermind is not the word you should use. Dolts, morons, unfit parents are more along the lines that fit them both. Take the kids away from them. And for god's sakes enough with Jon & Kate! Kate is nasty ask the people at her book signings!!!

On the same note, she could have left. Hard? Absolutely! There is help out there though. Being a victim of mental abuse myself, I do know it's not easy. Thankfully, when I was pregnant, I decided that wasn't the life I wanted my child to grow up knowing and left. Took many years to mentally recover. She can do it, too. -

Richard was the one who has been hawking a reality show for years, not his wife...he even had theme songs (with his name in it) written.
Doesn't sound like she was pulling the strings.
As for a wife protecting her kids, sure, in a perfect world. But unless you've been a victim of domestic violence, it's hard to fathom a wife sticking around, thus endangering her kids. But it happens every day.

Hasn't any1 noticed that all the people that are so quick to split families up for whatever reason are the same ones that themselves should be sterilized and not permitted to breed. The hosts of this show definately should not be allowed to breed. If there was any justice in the liberal media when Bethany spits out her baby there should be a new campaign to take away her parental rights.

Why do you allow someone like a "real housewife" on your show giving opinions on victims of domestic abuse? a true victim is frightened (with good cause) of her abuser. Even if beaten, it will take a victim leaving approximately 9 times before leaving for good. Also, the victim is in the most danger 72 hours after leaving the abuser. Many don't survive. Please stop putting people on your show who claim to have once been a victim yet not knowing anything about the psyche of the victim or the abuser!

I think this guy needs a good shrink and some serious anger management. Obviously by the mom's behavior, she is timid and shy -- also very angry. The kids need some immediate attention and the family should be evaluated!

if anyone saw the video that taped the balloon going up in the air the first try the dad kicked something and the 2nd attempt to get it in the air it was when it flew away.The dad was out there and i saw a glimpse of the mother.then the 2nd reason i believe the father is the mastermind because he asked the boy did you hear us calling you and the boy said yes then he was asked why didnt you come out.i was afraid it was for the show and then on another show he said because you said dont come out because it was for a show.You can tell the little boy is terrified of getting in trouble because he got sick when asked the question not 1 time but 2 times. -

the big deal is airports were closed down, military helecopters were sent in, the fbi was involved,more police manpower from different cities called in on trying to find the boy.who do you think is going to pay for all of it it sure as heck isnt the family it is the taxpayers who have legitimate paying jobs who will be footing the bill.

The fact this poll is even asking such a question is an attempt to imply women can do no wrong, even when it's blatantly obvious; that they are somehow only guilty when "controlled" by men. The media immediately began focusing on the father (the heterosexual white male involved), despite the mother's equal guilt. I suggest boycotting this Web site for their politically correct BS.

I THINK she is the victim but im not 100% sure, I was in an abusive relationship but the only thing I could tell her is to get out bc they have 3 boys and if she is being abused, they are teaching those boys that its okay to beat on women and I think thats a disgrace, thats all it took for me to leave my sons father.
