Today, CBS Television Distribution’s The Insider will begin its highly anticipated 6th season from its state of the art home at CBS Studio Center. This season, The Insider will introduce an innovative panel format with host Lara Spencer moderating a discussion over the day’s most talked about headlines with correspondents Samantha Harris and Chris Jacobs in a segment entitled, “What Side Are You On?” A fourth panelist will rotate through well-known comedians and newsmakers, including Nicey Nash and reality star Sharon Osborne, already on board for premiere week. Additionally, viewers will see a new set and graphics to complement the panel format. ”It’s a natural evolution for our television show,” said Linda Bell Blue, executive producer of The Insider and companion show Entertainment Tonight. “In addition to reporting the news, The Insider will now give viewers opinionated and edgy information with distinct points of view.” Correspondent Chris Jacobs joins The Insider after three seasons as co-host of TLC’s popular automotive make-over show, “Overhaulin’.” In 2008, after 25 years based at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight along with The Insider moved their entire base of Los Angeles operations to brand new state of the art soundstages at CBS Studio Center and marked a milestone in television history as the first syndicated newsmagazines to be produced in HD. Based on the Entertainment Tonight segment of the same name, The Insider premiered in 2004 as the highest-rated debut of any newsmagazine in syndication since 1996. Paul McCartney Goes Solo on Letterman's Late Show

Beatles legend Paul McCartney returns to the Ed Sullivan theater after almost 50 years. Paul McCartney doesn't need to do a lot of interviews. After all, interviews usually serve one of two purposes: They allow the interviewee to promote his new album, movie, book or show; or they allow a recluse or unknown person to reveal important information. Paul McCartney has never needed to promote his music heavily -- his legendary name does all the work. Nor has he needed to reveal something important -- the world has had access to every detail of his life since the Beatles performed on Ed Sullivan in 1964. But, under the appropriate circumstances, Paul McCartney has been known to grant the occasional, unconventional interview, like this 1993 classic. Earlier this year, McCartney paid a visit to The Colbert Report. And tonight, he'll make his first appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, though not his first in the Ed Sullivan Theater, where Letterman's show is taped. Introducing a collection of favorite places from around the world

Google Maps launched collection pages organizing all the local places and businesses that can be found online, from a design shop in New York City, to an architectural bookstore in San Francisco, to a cabaret in London. To show you the range of all this interesting local information, we've teamed up with local experts around the world to share some of their favorite places. Check out Diane Von Ferstenburg for the hottest and latest places she loves. Culinary expert and chef Alice Waters has shared her favorite places for organic and sustainable food in San Francisco and the Bay Area, including places like Blue Bottle Cafe, whose coffee Alice serves at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, and Bi-Rite Creamery, where you can find salted caramel ice cream. Iwona Blazwick, director of the Whitechapel Gallery in London, has shared her favorite placesto experience art in London, from the Tate Modern for contemporary art to Curzon Soho cinema, where you can catch the latest independent film releases. Vladimir Spivakov, artistic director and principal conductor of the State chamber orchestra Moscow Virtuosi and the National Philharmonic of Russia, has shared his favorite places to hear and appreciate theater and music in Moscow, from the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied, to the historic Maly Theater, the oldest theater in Moscow. With this project we also hope to send a friendly message to local businesses — people are looking online for local information, and you should be here. Timothy Childs, Founder and Chief Chocolate Officer of TCHO in San Francisco, shares his perspective on using online tools to build and grow: "TCHO is all about using appropriate technology, to make high quality chocolate and experiences for our customers. As our start-up moves to early growth stage, we are now using tools like Google Maps and the Local Business Center to reach customers and to continue building our business." It's estimated that 80% of U.S. Internet users use web search to find restaurants, stores and other local businesses, and yet only about half of local businesses currently have a website. By working with local experts to highlight the power of the web, we're encouraging local business owners to build out their online presence.
