Wondertrash Bogus Zen: Forward Planning Sometime in the early years of the last century Sweden's Naval Dept. received a post informing them that their forest was ready. Naturally no one knew exactly what this pertained to, until someone went back into the archives, and found that 150 years ago, the Naval Dept had commissioned a forest. Seems that some bright young man, perhaps his generation's Al Gore, had sat down and worked out the Swedish Navy was in danger of running out of oak for their warships. So he proposed that they commission a forest, ready in 150 yrs, and set to keep Sweden in warships straight through to the 21st century!! It was an excellent plan, just a very foolish idea. Still you can't blame our anonymous Swede. How was he to know that by the time his forest was ready, the navy would've switched to iron and steel. In that day and age, the idea of a iron ship would have sounded like a lead balloon. Even though the science behind it was firm, it just didn't make sense. Perhaps that bright young man received honours, promotions, knighthoods, etc., for insuring his country's future! Now no one even remembers his name. It emphasizes that grand old saying about the best laid plans of mice and men; life can not be planned, it can only be lived! Still his idea had one advantage: he and his superiors would be long dead, and fertilizing oaks themselves, before anyone realized what a foolish idea it actually was. Ka sera sera - the furture's not ours to see, and timing is everything!

Celebrities in Distress

It was a gala event last night as the Emmy's were handed out. Rick Gervais was even on hand as a presenter. He tried kidding the assembled celebritage out of taking themselves too seriously, and advised them to avoid such cheap melodramatics as crying (But Ricky, what then would be the point of an awards show? Besides when an array of ex waiters and call girls arrive decked out in their gaudiest finery to claim their shiny chrome statute - then they're already pretty ridiculous!). They only look ridiculous when awash with snots and tears. Naturally this didn't go too well. Celebrities take themselves much too seriously to be advised, let alone warned. His dig at producers got some murmurs of approval though. Well see for your self. Now Ricky has admitted in interviews that he has only ever read one book in his life - The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. Catcher and celebrity just doesn't mix, so perhaps Gervais is just not their sort of person. His honesty was less than refreshing too! Maybe some sly sucking up, by directing a few barbs at people celebrities hate might have made him more popular?? A shit shot at Sarah Palin is never out of place these days - blunderbuss delivery not withstanding.

Rotten apple falls close to tree, or a chip off the old block head Well here's a not ready for reality TV family drama: Seems that authorities were doing a routine search of the Ryan O Neal premises, as a part of Young Redmond's probation when they chanced upon methamphetamine. So the naughty boy has gotten hauled off back to jail. The plot sickens however, when meth was also found in the master bedroom. That means Ryan got to go to the can too, and as more than moral support for young Redmond. Father and son are being held on 10 000 bail. Now who's gonna bail those two out, unless Tatum can pull some quickie coke deals? One thing's for sure, FarRah don't need this!
