Though I wasn't a Palin supporter, I think that Fey's motive was clearly more politcal than comedic, and because it was so, I didn't care for how she treated Palin and Palin's daughter. It spoke of Fey's lack of personal and artistic integrity, and her actions were contrary to a truly pro-feminist stance. Fey could have gone easier on Palin and would have been just as funny ... disappointing.
I enjoyed this Oscar Show's format. It was much more entertaining; particularly the song and dance segments and especially those which featured past Oscar winners' comments and congratulations to/about 2008's nominees.

There's a stark contrast between the couples' photos. Jen and John seem present, 'in the moment' with each other. There's warmth and contentment. For all intent and purposes, Pitt and Jolie may as well posed for single portraits. They appear disengaged, cold and
distant. All appears at surface level; flat.

I 'read' Jen as composed and confident. Maybe she appeared too serious to some because of her role as Jack Black's 'straight man,' or guarded as she anticipated that cameras would 'watch' and reporters would speculate the cad and harlot's reactions to her presentations. Jen was beautiful, radiant. Jolie-Pitt as "royalty"? Hardly!
I agree, SierraH2, and I don't care for both the cad and home wrecker. They were arrogant, and both got their due rewards; nothing. Next
event, the interviewers should snub THEM. Show
them who needs who for PR and pic promos.
Though Rihanna has adequate family and friend support, celebs should speak out to Brown and others that what he did is not acceptable under any circumstance. Fame and wealth shouldn't exempt Brown from accountability.
An unfortunate lesson that domestic abuse does not respect fame, celebrity, success, class, income, gender, sexual orientation, profession, ethnicity nor race. Brown must reckon with his cruel misdeed. No breaks.
Chicagoland has MAD LOVE for Ross Matthews!
