New Moon star Peter Facinelli has said he has become the ‘pony express’ between fans and Robert Pattinson as he’s regularly asked to deliver letters. Facinelli, 35, plays Carlisle Cullen, the father figure to Pattinson’s character Edward in the movie saga. He said: “People always come up to me say: ‘Oh my god… can you give this letter to Rob?’ I’ve become the pony express to Rob Pattinson.” He added: “I’ve yet to get one letter from [him]. Maybe he’s hoarding them.”

Hangovers stars pull in GQ vote

The male stars of The Hangover, a summer sleeper hit, have been lauded in GQ magazine’s annual Men Of The year issue. Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms, all stars in The Hangover, are this year’s GQ Funnymen Of The Year, while Chris Pine of Star Trek is named Breakout Of The Year. Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback, is Comeback Of The Year, while veteran actor and director Clint Eastwood garners the Badass Of The Year laurel. US President Barack Obama, who makes his second consecutive appearance on the list, was awarded Leader Of The Year. The GQ Men Of The Year edition will hit newsstands on November 24.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz appears in raunchy sex scene on Melrose Place

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz gets into a steamy clench with a co-star on US show Melrose Place. The 25-year-old singer/actress stripped off for some raunchy scenes involving her character Violet and Augle (Colin Egglesfield) in the re-launched version of the popular 90s series. At one point, Violet whips off her vest and is pinned on a table by Augle as the pair get close in the outrageous clip. Simpson and her co-star Egglesfield have both been cut from the CW drama. In a statement released after the announcement, Simpson-Wentz said, “Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill. Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity.” The actors’ departure comes just a few weeks after original Melrose alum Heather Locklear began filming scenes for upcoming episodes.

Westwood shakes up for Twilight fever

The sleepy Los Angeles village of Westwood was swept with nocturnal Twilight mania. Thousands of fans poured into the streets around UCLA hoping to catch a glimpse of Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart at the premiere of New Moon. The premiere was to be held at the Mann and Bruin theatres. The movie is the second of the Twilight series of films, with Eclipse soon to follow. Some of the fans arrived four days ago to secure a spot in the queue for the red carpet arrivals. Nicole Zamora, 36, was sixth in line after starting on Thursday afternoon. She and her three sisters wore their own New Moon T-shirts and said they spent the weekend reading, listening to the iPod and trying to sleep. Christina Fuentes and four of her friends came from New Jersey for the event. The 24-year-old wore vampire teeth, saying: “They just clip on.”

Burlesque sensation Dita Von Teese is going highbrow – her next show is to be scripted by best-selling author Paulo Coelho. The voluptuous dancer, who is known for her carefully choreographed sexy routines, is friends with the celebrity-favourite writer. Coelho, known for mystical novels such as The Alchemist, teased his Twitter followers with a picture of the two holding hands backstage at one of her shows – but insisted they are “just good friends”. He sent out the picture after being asked why they followed each other on the network. The married Brazilian author wrote under the photo: “Why do we follow each other? a) intelligence b)I am going to write her next show c) we are just good friends (I don’t expect you to believe, of course, because you see her eyes, but it is true).” He later tweeted that all of the options “are correct”, but he has not revealed any details on the show.

Harry Potter star allegedly smokes weed at London party

Daniel Radcliffe, the star of the Harry Potter franchise, allegedly smoked cannabis at a party, according to a UK Daily Mirror exclusive which featured photos. Radcliffe, 20, laughed and wandered about a housewarming party, telling other guests: “I love weed.” The hip North London party was thrown by Radcliffe’s on-off girlfriend Laura O’Toole. “He looked spaced out and didn’t look like he knew what was going on,” said party guest Wadia Tazi, 26. The star of the hit movies was so relaxed and “dopey” he allowed a friend to scrawl on his face in pen, the paper claimed. Tazi said: “Daniel was laughing and seemed to find it funny. But he didn’t really look like he knew what was going on. “I was surprised by his behaviour.” Radcliffe last year said: “I’ve been around some amazing people and still managed to keep a real childlike view of the world. I’m not into drugs.”

She said: “I’m in my Paris hotel room when Piers texts: ‘In Shanghai, darling. Can’t believe nobody knows me here. Terrible!’ “What’s he like?! I’m not having the same problem. ‘Have just been accosted by some American tourists who ask if I’m the judge who knows Susan Boyle,’ I text back. Boylemania’s gone global!”
