Despite the new allegations, Jon and Kate's kids are safe and secure, and that's great. But there's so many kids in the world who do not get these luxuries or sometimes even basic necessities. The U.S. should do more to help the impoverished around the world. The Borgen Project has good info on the estimated cost of ending global poverty:
$30 billion: Annual shortfall to end world hunger.
$550 billion: U.S. Defense budget.

Hopefully, because of the show, the kids will be safe and secure in the event of a divorce, and that's great. I think it's awesome that Angelina gets involved with these tough issues. The US should follow suit and take the leading role in addressing global poverty. And the Borgen Project sounds really cool! I can't believe that shortfall. Hopefully, we can use our collective efforts to make poverty history.

Although I'm by no means a Jonas Brothers fan, I think it's cool that they are going international. We all need to focus more internationally, I think. The U.S. should follow suit and increase its efforts to address severe poverty overseas for national security and humanitarian purposes..

I think it's great whenever celebrities humble themselves to help out people. The U.S. should follow Glover's lead and do more to help those in need. Specifically, The U.S. should be doing way more to address the Millennium Development Goals. The plan to end world hunger has been getting seriously ignored.

I think that deforestation is definitely a serious problem, but I'd like to see the U.S. and U.K. focus more on helping people overseas by alleviating severe poverty. The Borgen Project has good info on the estimated cost of ending global poverty:

I definitely think that the swine flu panic has been blown way out of proportion, and issues like malaria, measles, and malnutrition deserve far more attention even though they are not as obvious in the United States. The U.S. should be doing more to address these more dangerous issues, though.

I'm actually glad that this whole Rihanna-Chris Brown situation has received so much press because it gives the very serious issue of sexual assault a lot of deserved attention. But it's important to remember that there are so many other issues out there as well, and many such as malaria and measles, are surprisingly easy to solve. I think that the U.S. should take some leadership on these and other issues such as severe poverty. The Borgen Project has good info on the estimated cost of ending global poverty:
