Cheryl Clashes with Simon Over X Factor

Cheryl Cole has ordered Simon Cowell to show more enthusiasm for The X Factor, a report claims. According to Now magazine, the Girls Aloud star expressed fears that Cowell is no longer committed to the ITV1 talent show after noticing an "indifferent" attitude from the music mogul this year. A source said: "Cheryl thinks Simon wants to go because he's preoccupied with other, more lucrative, projects. And she's not the only one who thinks that." The insider added: "The other day, he snapped at one of the producers in a meeting when he was asked a question and it became apparent he hadn't been listening. "Cheryl told him to sharpen up. She said if he didn't want to put in the hours on his own TV show he should reconsider his future as a judge. She gave him a proper mum's telling off - even Louis [Walsh] was stunned into silence." Reports suggest that Cowell has been in the process of setting up a global entertainment company with Topshop owner Sir Philip Green in recent months. The star has already admitted that he found The X Factor "boring" this year before revamping the show's format by introducing live audition audiences. Although Im enjoying this Years X Factor I have to say I do miss the old audition process.

DJ AM Dies

DJ AM has been found dead in his New York City apartment. Det. Brian Sessa tells PEOPLE that at 5:20 p.m. on Friday New York Police Department officers entered an apartment on Lafayette Street in response to a 911 call about a man who hadn't been seen for two days. Inside, they found the body of a white male in his 30s. Another police source confirmed to PEOPLE that the dead man was DJ AM. The cause of death has not been released by the medical examiner, although N.Y.P.D. Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne said there was no apparent evidence of foul play. A police source said prescription drugs were found in the apartment. Goldstein's publicist released a statement Friday confirming the news of his death. "The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time," the statement says. DJ AM (real name: Adam Michael Goldstein) was 36. He narrowly escaped death in a 2008 jet crash with Blink 182's Travis Barker. "There's no reason why I lived and they didn't," DJ AM said last month at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, referring to the others who died in the crash. "It's something that I struggle with every day, you know, kind of wondering. But I’ve just realized I'm never really going to know. I'm alive, and I'm here, and I have another chance. So I have to do something better with my life this time." DJ AM's Last DaysOn Thursday, Goldstein Tweeted, "New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york ain't always what it seems." DJ AM was scheduled to work Friday night at Rain nightclub at the Palms in Las Vegas, where he has a standing gig. He was the deejay at the club last weekend. "He never drinks alcohol – ever," says a source who has seen him there. "Every time he's there he drinks Fiji water and Red Bull – six Fijis and six Red Bulls every night." Goldstein had just played Dusk at Caesar's Atlantic City on Tuesday night. He was part owner of the club, which will be closed Friday night. In a statement, Dusk management said, "We are devastated by the loss of Adam Goldstein, our dear friend and valued member of the Dusk family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. He was a true talent who will be greatly missed." His Past StrugglesGoldstein was a popular deejay in the Hollywood, New York and Vegas club scene, and had struggled with weight, drugs and depression. "Drugs became my identity," he said in 2005. "I would deejay until 2 a.m., go get drugs and stay up until 10 in the morning doing drugs alone in my apartment." During his early 20s, his weight reached 300 lbs. A critical turning point in his life came in 1997, when Goldstein considered suicide. After a night of doing cocaine, Goldstein, 24 at the time, sat before a mirror and "could not move away from staring at myself," he said. He put a gun in his mouth and, sobbing, said, "God, please help me." "I pulled the trigger, and it jammed," DJ AM said, recounting the story again at the TCAs last month. "And I remember sitting there thinking, 'You know, I can’t even kill myself.' " He said the next morning, a friend, who had managed to kick drugs, stopped to check in on him. "He said, 'Dude, you're coming with me. Let's go." And I just listened for once, and I went and I did everything he told me to do. That was 11 years ago." After vowing to get off drugs and lose weight, Goldstein underwent gastric bypass surgery and dropped 115 lbs. He dated Nicole Richie and got engaged to the reality TV star in 2005, though the two called off their plans in December of that year. Goldstein most recently dated model Hayley Wood but according to reports called it quits earlier this month. Source: People

Kerry Katona was bailed today on suspicion of assaulting her accountant. Kerry was arrested yesterday after she attacked her accountant David McHugh. She had also been arrested on suspicion of commiting criminal damage and a public order offence. A Cheshire Police Spokesman said 'A 28-year-old woman has been released and granted police bail until 12 October at 9am pending further investigation.' Kerry punched him threw a cup of tea over him and shouted "You've ruined my life". Witnesses said she threw office eqipment around the office before assaulting her accountant David McHugh. A source told The Sun 'She had been through her accounts and was raging. She went to his office to speak to him and was screaming and kicking off. She punched him in the face. She struck out at McHugh. It wasn't pretty.' The police spokeswoman said yesterday: 'At approximately 3.50pm on Wednesday 26th August, Cheshire Police attended a premises on Hawthorne Business Park in Warrington, following a report of an assault. A 28-year-old woman from the Wilmslow area has been arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and a public order offence.' Get the kids away from her now !!!

Confirmed Big Brother is ending after next series

Channel 4 have confirmed that next years Big Brother will be the final series with Channel 4. Channel 4 Director Kevin Lygo said "We will not be continuing with Big Brother. Next year will be the last series for Channel 4. There will be a celebrity version, plus the regular one. We've decided it's time to move on. Big Brother is still profitable for Channel 4 despite its reduced popularity and there could have been the option to renew it on more favourable terms. That’s what a purely commercial broadcaster would have done, but Channel 4 has a public remit to champion new forms of creativity." This series of Big Brother has been the lowest rated yet only pulling in 2 million viewers every night. ITV have expressed interest in taking over Big Brother. Im sure there manage to ruin the show somehow. I will miss Big Brother but I think it's time to move on. We've seen everything already what else can they do ? This years Big Brother i've not been into that much at all normally im addicted to the show but it's just not that interesting anymore.

Chris Brown will spend 1,400 hours removing graffiti and washing cars for assaulting Rihanna. Brown, 20, was formally sentenced in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday to six months of community labor in Virginia after he pleaded guilty in June to one count of felony assault against Rihanna, 21. Brown's six-month labor sentence will be supervised by the chief of police in Richmond, Va., who wrote to the judge that Brown would perform graffiti removal, cleaning and maintaining grounds, and washing cars. "Brown's labor hours will be flexible to accommodate his entertainment career," according to DA spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons. The singer, who looked solemn and wore a black pinstripe suit and matching tie, was also sentenced to five years of probation, a year of domestic violence classes, and was ordered to pay fines. He was accompanied in the courtroom by his mother and at least one bodyguard. As part of his plea bargain with prosecutors, a second felony charge of making criminal threats was dropped. Rihanna was not present for the hearing. Donald Etra, an attorney for the "Umbrella" singer, had previously asked the judge for lesser restrictions on communication and contact between the two singers. However, L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg ordered Brown not to have any communication with Rihanna for the next five years, which includes phone and email contact. Brown was also ordered not to come within 100 yards of Rihanna – 10 yards if they're both at the same event. Toward the end of the hearing, Judge Schnegg warned Brown, in an apparent reference to reports that the two singers may have had contact against court order: "I'm not immune to any chatter on the airwaves. Do you understand, Mr. Brown, that any violation of this order is a violation of your probation and it comes with the possible penalty of prison?" Brown responded "Yes." Asked if Rihanna was disappointed by the stay-away order, her lawyer stated: "There were no surprises today. The decision was up to the court, not Rihanna." Etra added that Rihanna does have the option of asking the court to soften the stay-away order down the line, but he wouldn't say if she plans to do so. Etra added that while the order specifically forbids Brown from contacting Rihanna, she was also warned by the court back in June not to contact him. Last month, Brown publicly apologized for the incident, saying, "I have told Rihanna countless times, and I am telling you today, that I am truly sorry and that I wasn't able to handle the situation both differently and better." Asked if Rihanna has forgiven Brown for the incident, her lawyer replied, "I do not discuss her personal life in public."
