Partial Source(s): PWTorch.com According to a source, WWE executive Shane McMahon is looking to buy a financial interest in the UFC. As noted earlier, Shane McMahon will officially leave his WWE position as VP of Global Media on January 1st, 2010. McMahon would bring to UFC his relationships in the marketplace and help UFC with their international expansion. There was a meeting between Shane McMahon and UFC officials including Dana White several weeks ago. When asked about the meeting, Dana White simply stated "no comment". We'll keep you posted as we get more.

[Read full story on The Insider]

This Week's RAW Rating Is In, WWE Announcer Released

-- Monday’s special 3-hour Thanksgiving edition of WWE Raw hosted by Jesse Ventura did a 3.23 overall rating. The final 2 hours of the show, Raw’s typical timeslot, did a strong 3.55 rating up from last week’s 3.47. The hourly ratings were 2.60, 3.60 and 3.50 rating. When WWE runs 3-hour Raws, the first hour typically draws considerably fewer viewers than the second and third hours. Comparing the final two hours of this week to last week’s show from Madision Square Garden, viewership was up 2.5 percent -- It would appear that Lauren Mayhew's tenure with World Wrestling Entertainment has already come to an end as her pictures and profile were removed from the company website's ECW section this afternoon. Furthermore, her name was removed from its Divas section as well. WWE has yet to make an official announcement concerning her apparent departure from the company. Mayhew was hired this past September to take over the ring announcing void Lilian Garcia left behind when she decided to part ways with the company after a decade-plus relationship. Shortly thereafter, Mayhew begun working as the ring announcer for its ECW brand. Mayhew is an aspiring recording artist who has worked alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry, superstars such as Britney Spears, Beyonc Knowles and Kelly Rowland to name a few. She even performed at the Super Bowl as frontwoman for the teen group PYT. Mayhew has also branched out into acting as she will be appearing in Frat Party, which is set for release next month on DVD. You can also catch Lauren in the upcoming MTV pilot series Private High Musical, scheduled for 2010.

[Read full story on The Insider]

WWE SmackDown SPOILER Results - November 27, 2009

Credit: PWInsider *Smackdown! opens with Chris Jericho in the ring discussing the TLC match for the Unified Tag Team championships at the TLC PPV. He then turns his attention to the announced Batista vs. Kane match tonight, noting it will name the new top contender for the Undertaker's World championship. He claims he should be in the match. Teddy Long comes out and announced Jericho vs. The Undertaker in a non-title match for later. *The Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Time. *Backstage, Vickie Guerrero and Eric Escobar demand Teddy Long grant Escobar a Intercontinental championship bout. Long makes the match and says it will be his only shot. *CM Punk comes out with Festus and a brown paper bag. Punk introduces Drew Gallows (that name may not be 100% correct but that's what it sounded like), formerly Festus. Punk said his friends gave him pills in the past and that's why Festus was in the state he was in, but that's in the past. Punk said that what he has inside the bag comes out 12/1 and he's scared that it will be available to the public. Punk pulls the Jeff Hardy DVD. Out comes Matt Hardy, who defends his brother. This leads to... *Matt Hardy defeats CM Punk by DQ after Festus interferes. They beat down Hardy afterwards. *Backstage, Mickie James is asked about Michelle McCool's video last week. James said that no matter how juvenile Layla and McCool get, she's worked hard to get here and she's not leaving Smackdown. *Batista defeated Kane by countout to become the new number one contender to the World championship. *WWE Intercontinental champion John Morrison defeated Eric Escobar. After the bout, Vickie Guerrero yelled at, slapped and spit on Escobar. *Backstage, Escobar and Guerrero argue. Escobar tells Vickie that she makes him sick and every time she kisses him, he has to wash his mouth out with disinfectant. He tells her they are over. *Undertaker defeated Chris Jericho by DQ in a non-title match. Batista joined Matt Striker and Todd Grisham on commentary for the match. Taker was going for the Tombstone when Batista hit the ring and took out his leg. Batista hit Taker repeatedly with chairshots. Batista flexed while standing over Taker. Batista and Jericho punched Taker. C.M. Punk ran in and it became a three-on-one. Kane finally came out and cleaned house. Taker chokeslammed Batista. Taker then chokeslammed Punk while Kane chokeslammed Jericho at the same time. Taker posed with belt and Kane. They left together and posed at the top of the ramp to a huge pop to close the show.

[Read full story on The Insider]

JR Blog: Jesse Ventura, Sheamus Push, The Rock

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here’s what Ross said about: Jesse Ventura Hosting Raw: “Jesse Ventura did an excellent job as guest general manager … Jesse looked good, had his usual distinctive, great delivery and, for me, created an interest in checking out his new “Conspiracy Theory” program that debuts soon on truTV. Ventura and McMahon was a fun trip down memory lane and they were, perhaps, the 2nd best broadcast team to appear on Monday Night Raw in a good while as in the summer of ‘08. Just one man’s totally biased opinion. I would have been happy to have flown in and produced the two wrestling legends.” Sheamus’ Push: “Sheamus has found himself in a great spot to help begin building his long term foundation in WWE. I read where some pundits felt the incident between the young Irishman and John Cena was “flat.” I disagree. Obviously, the crowd sitting in their seats over three hours is challenging, has an influence but isn’t the real reason. However, let’s all remember that Sheamus hasn’t been on Raw in any significant role for, what, a month, 5 weeks? Sheamus has not even been in a long term personal issue with a main event, Raw wrestler yet…until now. Bottom line is that Sheamus’ persona is still evolving and the next two weeks and then TLC is highly important to Sheamus’ development. At worst, the WWE has made a new, fresh main event for a PPV and from where I sit that is a good thing.” The Rock Saying He’d Work With WWE Again: “I would bet a 6 Pak Challenge and throw in a case of BBQ Sauce that those remarks don’t mean that Dwayne is thinking about wrestling again. I do not see that occurring but his appearances could mean an unlimited number of other things that don’t include putting on the tights. Time will tell.”

[Read full story on The Insider]

<img border="0" title="J.R.
Rey Mysterio Surgery Update: Change Of Plans

As previously reported, Rey Mysterio’s knee is in bad shape and the former World Heavyweight champion will need surgery to repair the situation. The beatdown he suffered at the hands of Batista following their match at Survivor Series was done to set up his time away from the ring. While there was talk that he’d undergo an extensive surgery to fully repair the ACL, Mysterio is now is said to be considering a less invasive procedure on his ACL that would allow him to return sooner than later. The more invasive procedure would have kept him out of action for upto 9 months and he would have missed WrestleMania 26. While this other surgery he’s considering will allow him to return at the Royal Rumble, he will still need major surgery down the road, likely after he retires.

[Read full story on The Insider]

Piggy James: Backstage Reaction To WWE Embarrassing Mickie

Credit: PWInsider.com As seen last week on SmackDown, Mickie James was introduced to Michelle McCool’s personalized version of “Old McDonald,” a video designed to degrade the curvaceous SmackDown Diva with its starring character “Piggy James.” For those wondering, the segment was indeed designed to send a message to the multi-time women’s champion. WWE brass aren’t happy with James venturing outside of the company for her country music aspirations as they believe she’s heading down the same path as the likes of Dwayne “The Rock” and Stacy Keibler, who let their outside endeavours overtake their commitments to the company. Additionally, company officials have not been pleased with James’ weight in recent months, which was another reason for the degrading segment.

[Read full story on The Insider]

Big Show Needs Surgery, What You Didn't See On RAW, Khali

-- In an update on Big Show, he will indeed be undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery shortly. However, he will not be forced to relinquish his Unified Tag Team Championship as he is not expected to be kept out action for too long. According to fan reports from Sunday night's Survivor Series pay-per-view, Show was in tremendous pain while working and could "barely move." -- After RAW went off the air, Randy Orton & Legacy came out and attacked John Cena. DX made the save and Legacy retreated to the back. Orton stayed out and ended up taking finishers from everyone. DX and Cena then celebrated. -- The Great Khali recently visited an Indian prison to speak to 18-21 year old prisoners and try to inspire them.

[Read full story on The Insider]

Eric Bischoff Arrives At TNA Offices Last Week

The Wrestling Observer Eric Bischoff was at the TNA Wrestling offices in Nashville, TN at some point last week. No other details are known at this time regarding what he was doing in Nashville. Bischoff has stayed relatively quiet since the announcement of Hulk Hogan signing with TNA and how his BHE TV company agreed to a deal with Spike TV in partnership with TNA. Bischoff's only comments were on his Twitter page, days after the Hogan-TNA announcement: "Getting a real kick out of all the speculation and 'inside knowledge' being spread in the internet...pretty funny."

[Read full story on The Insider]

WWE Monday Night RAW Results - November 23, 2009

- Tonight’s three-hour RAW kicks off with Michael Cole welcoming us to Hershey, PA. Tonight, we will see WWE Champion John Cena take on CM Punk in a first. Justin Roberts introduces tonight’s RAW host Jesse Ventura. Instead, Voices starts playing and Randy Orton marches to the ring. Orton says he knows Jesse Ventura has a major announcement regarding the WWE Title tonight but he also knows what his father told him about Ventura and that’s he’s a radical, someone who isn’t afraid to speak his mind. Orton wants Ventura to prove this to him. Orton wants Ventura to put him in a WWE Title match with Cena. Orton says he deserves it more than anyone else. The music hits and out comes WWE Hall of Famer Jesse “The Body” Ventura to a nice reaction from the crowd. Ventura says he’s back and he’s dressed like pro wrestling tonight, not a Governor. Ventura says he’s in charge tonight and what he says goes. Ventura says he respects Orton and that he reminds him of a younger version of himself. Ventura says he is bringing something totally new to WWE tonight. Ventura says Orton won’t get a title shot because he is here for something new. Ventura says there’s been too many of the same people getting title shots and it’s time to change that. Ventura says no Orton, no Big Show, no HBK, no Triple H, no Jericho, none of the usuals getting title shots. Ventura says there will be a series of matches. To qualify, you can never have been a World Champion. The winners will go into a “Breakthrough Battle Royal” with the winner getting a World Title Shot, he says. Presumably the WWE Title. Orton says Ventura is making a mistake. Ventura says he moves on from his mistakes and what he says goes. Ventura announces CM Punk vs. John Cena and DX vs. The Hart Dynasty for tonight as well as the qualifying matches with winners going on to the battle royal. Ventura says the first match starts right now. Breakthrough Battle Royal Qualifier: Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler The music hits and out comes Kofi Kingston to a big pop. Randy Orton locks eyes with Orton as they pass on the ramp. RAW goes to commercial as Kofi enters the ring. Back from a quick break and we see some replays from Kofi. Out comes his opponent, Dolph Ziggler. They lock up and go to the corner. Dolph with a cheap shot. Dolph beats Kofi down in the corner. Kofi turns things around and unloads on Dolph. They trade near falls. Dolph with knees to the face and kicks. Dolph with another 2 count. They go back and forth some more until Dolph drops Kofi on his face for another 2 count. Headlock by Dolph. Dolph keeps in control and gets another 2 count. Dolph with a chinlock and body scissors. Kofi starts fighting back with kicks and a big right hand. Kofi hits the Boom Drop and Trouble in Paradise for the pinfall and the win. Winner: Kofi Kingston - Cole leads us to The Miz backstage at a Thanksgiving dinner table, telling what he’s thankful for. He’s thankful for his team at Survivor Series and being the most dominant US Champion of all-time. Actually, he’s not thankful for those things because he expects greatness. He says the people should be thankful for getting the chance to watch him because he’s awesome. We go to commercial.
Jerry Lawler Says Jim Ross Could Return At WrestleMania

WWE announcer Jerry Lawler tells the UK Sun that even if Jim Ross is healthy and able to return to work in the coming months, WWE will probably hold off on bringing him back to the announcer’s table until WrestleMania 26 next year. “There’s a strong possibility that WrestleMania could be when he makes a return,” Lawler said. “Even if it’s a situation where he could return a little bit before that, it might be best to just wait and let him come back at Mania as the comeback of JR would be a big draw.” Lawler repeated what JR said in a recent blog, that it will two or three months to become “facially ready” for TV again. Lawler says Ross’s voice sounds fine over the phone and someone on the other end wouldn’t know he’s only able to talk out of one side of his mouth. “I texted him last night, and spoke with him this past week, and he’s doing better but says it will probably be a few months before he’s facially ready to be back on television,” Lawler said. “But when you talk to him, when you just hear his voice, you can’t tell. He doesn’t have slurred speech any more.”

[Read full story on The Insider]

<img border="0" title="J.R.

Hollywood heavyweight Dwayne “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson says he’s working with WWE on a special television project that would be in addition to guest-hosting a future episode of WWE Raw. During a Thursday morning radio appearance on syndicated (Jack Diamond Morning Show), Johnson was vague on the details but hinted that the project will be significant. “I love that world and being able to entertain, especially if I could go back whether it’s on Smackdown and do a promo or guest-host or we could create this cool show, whatever that may be,” Johnson said. “Especially now, I’m at the point where I can go back and give back to the fans and help out the guys in any way I can.” Johnson said he and Vince McMahon have a great relationship and he’s looking forward to working with WWE again in the future. “Right now we’re trying to put together there is always something cool and interesting for me to do. I would like to do something more than just host the show,” Johnson said. “I’m in the process of creating something really cool for the fans something very special and unique. It will be something like one big entertaining show.”

[Read full story on The Insider]

Hulkamania: Let The Battle Begin Results Melbourne, Australia at Rod Laver Arena Report by reader TheMrDAprano 1. Nick Dinsmore (a/k/a Eugene) with Pimp Fatha (a/k/a Godfather) defeated Rock of Love. Dinsmore and Fatha win after the hot tag. Fatha hit the pimp driver. Great chant for one of the heels to ‘put his shirt on.’ 2. Spartan3000 Matt Cross defeated “Outcast” Shannon Moore. Cross won with a shooting star press. Cross was heel but hit the finish and got a pop. Moore wasn’t over. 3. The Nasty Boys defeated Black Pearl and Vampire Warrior in an Australian Street Fight. The latter duo was Team Puffy Black Shirt. Basic hardcore match. The Nasty Boys were over. 4. Brutus Beefcake defeated Heidenreich. Brutus got the win witih a sleeper. Boring match. Hedenreich was okay and spent time jawing with the referee. Brutus Beefcake cut the referee’s hair after the match. Intermission 5. Lacey Von Erich won a bikini contest. There were two Playboy models and another girl. Pimp Fatha came out. After Lacy won the contest, a fat dude got on the ring and danced. Ric Flair cut a sweet promo and then press conference footage was shown. 6. Mr. Anderson defeated Sean Morley (a/k/a Val Venis). The former Mr. Kennedy won with the Mic Check after Morley missed with the Money SHot. Orlando Jordan came out to custom music, which was rare. He cut a promo about being the greatest and then introduced Uso Fatu (Umaga) as his partner. 7. Brian Lawler and Rikishi defeated Orlando Jordan and Uso Fatu. Good action and comedy. The crowd was into it and chanted “Jerry’s Kid” at Lawler. They also chanted “Booker T” at Jordan because of the dreads. Lawler and Rikishi danced afterward despite some reluctance from the latter. The referee did the worm, but Lawler kicked him out for doing so. 8. Hulk Hogan defeated Ric Flair. Unreal experience. Glad to see it in person. After great backstage promos, they came to the ring. Once they were in the arena the noise was deafening. All of their trademark spots were in there. Both men eventually bladed. Hogan used Flair’s brass knuckles to win. No leg drop.

[Read full story on The Insider]

Lesnar's Trainer: He'll Be Healthy & Fighting In 6 Months

Brock Lesnar's longtime friend and Jiu-Jitsu coach tells TMZ.com that the UFC Heavyweight champ WILL return to the Octagon -- within 6 months. Rodrigo "Comprido" Medeiros, a 7-time World Jiu-Jitsu champion, told TMZ that Lesnar "is getting better and that is the most important thing ... He will be fine and be fighting again within 6 months." Medeiros added, "I can just say that the heavyweights can stop laughing and get ready to start crying because the champion will be back soon." Lesnar had surgery earlier this week to repair a hole in his intestine. While Lesnar is still in rough shape and has a long road ahead of him, the outlook has improved dramatically from last week when Dana White was saying that Lesnar is "very very sick" and may never fight again.

[Read full story on The Insider]
